Transalp - day 3

Imagine climbing on the bike on a steep uphill for 2 hours, then another 2 hours of hike a bike (including about 1/2 km in snowfields), plus about 3 more hours of riding and pushing and you have day 3. 99 km and 2800 m of climbing. It was hard. This stage was ridden the first time ever in the Transalp Series, we went over the Fellbertauern Mountain range. Amazing! Huge waterfalls.

Lots of technical riding today, we even had to push our bikes on the downhills. The trail we were on was used 500 (fivehundred) years ago for dealers to bring goods from Venice (glass and wine) to Salzburg (salt) and the other way around.

The last 20 km were easy, it was smooth riding into town, and we worked together with about 30 other riders and some Pro girls racing for CUBE. We sprinted them all and got in before they crossed the finish.

Today we found out that the best way to ride uphill is to ride next to each other, so you won`t push each other too hard. Another valuable lesson learned.

The finish in the center of Lienz, Austria.
