Transalp - day 2

One of the hardest days. Only 80 km, but 3400 m of climbing. Two huge mountains, and a sweet 45 min singletrail downhill at the end. BTW, the trail was build 100 (onehundred) years ago.

Frank and I lost each other at the beginning, he had a technical problem, and I didn`t know where he was. This cost us about 15 min of searching and waiting for each other.

Again, amazing mountains here, we saw many crashes today and made some more friends during the race. We already start seeing the same faces around as.

We finished 99th today, but we know without the technical problem we would have been 15 minutes faster. Tomorrow will be another day of steady pace, I hope this strategy will start to pay off at around day 4...

My folks were at the finishing town again today, again super excited about the event. My mom even said she will start training and ride it next year (good luck, mom, but you better don`t do it!)

Alex (and Frank)

The bikes survived 40 minutes of steep, muddy downhills. I love my Cannondale and the Lefty.

Not only our bikes survived the downhill, but also the riders!
