One big happy family

Yes, I'm talking about us. Bikers.

Hit the bike paths around Denver tonight and ran into a random guy. Some smalltalk lead to race talk, lead to Leadville race talk. He asked about my finishing time when I did it, and boom - we seemed to be best friends. Cool guy, even though he was on a roadbike. Ha ha. Turned out he is a MTBer by heart, and only out for recovery. I know how that is, and I honestly admit that the roadbike is fun as well.

Looks like I might meet up later this week with him and a couple of his teammates for some trail action. Hope I can make it, after all I'm here on a work trip... and not used to the altitude, so they'll probably enjoy kicking some flatlanders ass.

It's true! We are "one big happy family" :-)

I found the same thing when my work trip took me to Austin and Santa Monica. I put posts up on a couple of message boards before I went and had people to ride with instantly.

Those bike paths are tough on the tubes. I got 7 flat tires on my last visit to the Denver bike paths cause of those little thorny goat heads.
hope you did better than me.
Bring lots of tubes and a big ol patch kit!
