Pulled the plug at Lumberjack

2nd DNF race of my career, 2nd this season. Frustrating. But for some reason my stomach shut down, just like during the Kokoepelli, and there was no sense in pushing it any further. It was a hot day, but I think that wasn't the reason for my problems. They started early in the race, when temps weren't above 90.

Many people dropped out of the race, but the hard ones made it through. I'm glad my teammates finished with awesome results, Robert got 5th and Chris 11th. And here I am, the endurance racer of the team without a finish...

The good part about stopping early is having time to snap some pictures:

Two dropouts:

Robert before heading out for his last 25 mile loop:

Chirs before heading out for his last lap (and after telling me that an upset stomach is no reason to drop out - thanks for that motivational speech, but it came too late):

Robert at the finish (what you can't see are the hot temperatures)

It was so hot I was about to start drinking the random water bottles that were laying around on the course! Sorry that your stomach wasn't feeling well :-(

We'll get 'em next time, or the time after that.
