Season 2006 officially started

Yes, I'm back in the game. This means my blogs won't be all that boring any more, and I'll be able to put more bike stories up again.

I started riding on Sunday for 2 hours in the snow, back to my old appartment to pick up my VW bus, and went out on Monday evening with 5 friends. Sunday was relatively warm with 30 F, Monday night a little colder with a windchill of around 25 F.

It's always fun again to figure out what to wear at the beginning of the winter, even though I made a list last year about what layer to wear at which temperature you don't trust the list any more and end up overdressing. Believe it or not, but I actually was hot riding around.

Most of the time this winter will be on my good old MEGAbike, now set up as singlespeed . I built it up the cheapest way possible - took of the big and small chainring, left the cassette on and bolted on the Surly Singlators. Works. And of course the fenders, making it look like a powerful dirt bike - only that it's my weak winter legs powering it...
