Weekend recap
Sweet weather here in Michigan on Saturday and Sunday. Low 60's, blue sky, colorful trees - I had to ride.
Saturday:
Went out with a friend of mine (was a Pro roadie a couple years ago), headed from his house to the trail and back. 70 miles, and he asked me only once if we could slow down! I feel so good at the moment it's crazy - too bad there are no endurance races around here that time of year...
On the way back he showed me some old warehouse a retired guy bought, and now the old dude is putting a model train in there. It's huge! Must be nice to have so much time - but I'd still prefer riding my bike over playing with trains.
Sunday:
40 miles of single trail action with Jim at "the Poto" - one of the roughest trails in SE Michigan. It's pretty beat up that late in the seasen, has a thin layer of sand over the hardpack trail and some scetchy downhills. It's probably also one of trails with the most elevation change in the area: 1200 feet in 18 miles.
The next couple of weeks will be tough - I need to stay of the bike and just recover from the season and get ready for 2006... Great timing, November will be a busy month. I'll be moving soon, so I need to pack all my stuff. And then there is the trip to Salt Lake City coming up at the end of the month. Can't wait!
