Done

Lots of faster rides lately, I need a break. Looking forward to some easy rides over the next days.

And I'm even more excited about tomorrow evening. I'll go to do some shopping here for the 3rd time in my life!

Last Sat/Sun in pictures

Good times on skinny tires:

Eric, John, myself, Ray, Scott

And now you can actually see us (where is Scott?)

Wolverines are the best:

Me and my Trek, the "mad one"

Eric, better hurry and get on your bike and chase us down, or you'll never win a sprint!

There is only one guy smiling in that crowd - the mountainbiker, who else?

Ray, the man who knows how to ride a bike and how to host a training camp:

Looks like nap time is about to start:

I wish I knew how to cook

Meals that fell down my throat this weekend:
--> grilled salmon and pasta
--> scrambled eggs, potatoes, sausage
--> big ass steak, pasta and asparagus
--> 3 egg omelette, potatoes
--> pasta with all the leftovers
--> plus the typical weekend food like Clif Bars and Power Gels

Why?
2 big days of riding out of Ray's supersweet "cabin" in Rose City, MI (there are actually a couple of good hills up there)

On?
The roadbike... that poor bike didn't know what it got itself into when it showed up in my hands. Had to ride it through the cold, on dirty and soaking wet roads in order to finish the 2 100+ milers.

And?
Yep, roadbiking with friend is a lot of fun. Good times, but can't wait to ride the MTB again...

What's next?

Only one more day until the weekend (man I need that, had better days at work before).

Heading up with Ray and the Gang to Rose City for some ice-fishing and snowmobiling. Ha ha. We are actually going there to ride our bikes...

Road Ride #1

Mike:
"Your ass looks fat on that bike."

152 miles

Don't worry, this is not the mileage for one day, but rather for the weekend. Some riding on Sat, some on Sun, and a sweet party at Susan & Shawn's crib in between.

Funny: after Saturdays 5h ride, Jim and I had a hard time deciding whether to walk to the restaurant or drive there. It looked so far away, and once we ended up walking I counted 253 steps (one way)....

Oh, and I discovered old talents again (sorry guys...)

???

38 hours ago I rode in 70 F, now I look outside and see snow. Man I'm glad I haven't cleaned the winterbike yet...

On the road again

Todays ride was too good to even describe it. A lame attempt:

--> 70 F,
--> lots of roadbikes,
--> plenty attacks,
--> fast pace,
--> and finally some sweat in the face instead of a balaclava and frostbite.

My ride for the evening was the MTB, the new bike is not here yet. And I still have all the hair on my legs (I don't think I'll ever be a good roadie...)

Big news

Say hello to the newest member of the Dolppinator Bike Harem. It is hot, shiny red, has many gears and also two wheels. I am stoked!

Next I just need one of these so I can work on my look to fit in that crowd...

Paris Hilton

I usually like the cold weather, but it now officially sucks. Indoor spinning at ACF tonight, 15 roadie friends and - to their amazement - myself (it was my first public appearance for an indoor cycling event).

The riding was fun, the core body workout afterwards was about as much fun as the weather. Anybody got abs for sale?

Oh, about the title of this post: A loyal friend comforted me by stating that my bike is the "Paris Hilton" in the room, since every other gXX roadie made fun of it when I showed up.

Weekends are good

Friday:
Did "No Slackers Allowed" on the trainer and went so hard that I felt like puking. That was stupid, so I thought since that guy on TV can't see me, I simply won't shift any more when he tells me to. Felt better instantly.

Saturday:
Another 100 miler, which turned out to be a good warmup for the Finkel-Stein B-Day Party at Black Lotus. Active recovery with Wheat Beer again (that stuff is really really good there).

Sunday:
No more WRCS, bummer. Big thanks to Robert for leading the rides, and thanks to all the other riders for the company and fun times. Because of you I rode 3219 km (= 2000.19 quality miles) on the MEGAbike this year.

Monday 2:30 AM:
Just woke up on the couch, dragged my sore butt to bed, and now can't sleep...
