Transalp - day 7
Wake up and climb. One hour up, and down on singletrail. I managed to pass a couple of people in that technical stuff, so I rode my way up to the video-guys riding in front of me on the motorcycle. Finally, I made it into the video of the day, shown in the evening during the awards.
Two more shorter climbes followed, and I started feeling my legs. I got a chance to recover during another 10 km of downhill, before we hit some nasty singletrail that involved lots of pushing. I was one of those up and down trails that never wanted to end. We hated it while trying to get it over with, but at the end we realized how much fun it actually was.
We dropped down towards a busy road, kept riding as hard as we could, worked on the fairly flat last 25 km with some other teams and made it safely into Belluno.
Looking around we saw that the mountains started to get smaller, certainly a sign that we almost crossed the Alps. Only one day left.
With todays performance we managed to get up to 73rd overall.
Alex (and Frank)
